Time to chuckle – Hebrew English translation mistakes and blunders.

‘Michnasayim’ (trousers) or ‘mishkafayim’ (spectacles)? We’ve all made some Hebrew English mistakes and translation blunders that have left us red in the face. Here is one that we’d like to share with you.

בור ‘Bor’ is the Hebrew word for ‘hole’ and בורות ‘Borot’ is the plural form.  בור also means ‘ignorance’.  The English translation of the Hebrew sign should read – Danger, holes in the road!

On the other hand there is plenty of ignorance on the road – so perhaps this isn’t a blunder after all.
