Also during the night a rocket landed in a kindergarten, although some serious damage to the classroom, no one was injured.

Home Front Command instructions

As per an instruction from The Home Front Command kindergartens, schools and academic institutions within a 40km radius of the Gaza Strip will remain closed for 48 hours and studies in southern Israel have been cancelled today due to the current escalation in the south. The directive is valid for communities in the Gaza perimeter, the Negev Center, Lachish and the South of the coastal plain. 

Ben-Gurion University, Ashkelon College, Sapir College, and Achva College will remain closed and 210,000 students and 20,000 teaching staff will remain at home on Sunday.

As per the Home Front Command’s latest instructions, the following limitations also apply

Public gatherings: up to 300 people only in a closed area

Workplace: access to a protected area, according to HFC stipulations, within the specified entry times

Public services and shopping malls will operate as usual as long as they are in a closed area.  Open air shopping districts/complexes will be closed.

Public shelters will be open.

Israel Railways train updates

The railway section between the Ashkelon and Beer Sheva stations on the western line is closed to traffic in accordance with the instructions of the security forces and the Sderot, Netivot and Ofakim stations are not operational until further notice. The passenger trains from Raanana and Ra’anana West line will end at Ashkelon Station. Night trains on the western line between Be’er Sheva and Tel Aviv Haganah stations will be operational until further notice.
