Tel Aviv Train Stations Close for 8 Days

In order to complete infrastructural work required for the future Tel Aviv-Jerusalem high speed line, Israel Railways will be shutting down three of Tel Aviv’s central train stations for eight full days from the 18th September, 2016.

The 3 stations are:

  1. Tel Aviv – University
  2. Tel Aviv – Savidor Merkaz/Central
  3. Tel Aviv – HaShalom

Changes & Route Modifications

  • The train departing from Beer Sheba Central Station on Sunday 18.9.16 at 10:59 pm shall complete its journey at Tel Aviv HaHagana Station (instead of Netanya).
  • The train departing from Nahariya Station on Sunday 18.9.16 at 11:15 pm shall complete its journey at Herzlia Station (instead of Modiin).   
  • Trains coming from/to north: it is possible to arrive by train from/up to Herzlia Station (without changing); we recommend driving from/up to Haifa Hof HaCarmel Station and from there continuing by bus towards Tel Aviv/Nahariya.
  • Trains coming from/to south: it is possible to arrive by train from/up to Tel Aviv HaHagana station.
  • Designated journey during the closure: two designated travel journeys will be operated: Binyamina-Hod HaSharon, in both directions (via Bnei Brak) and journey which is bypassing Tel Aviv stations in the line of Nahariya–Beer Sheba Central, in both directions.           
  • Jerusalem–Herzlia Line: the stations of Jerusalem Malha and Jerusalem Biblical Zoo will be closed; It will be possible to travel only between the stations of Lod-Ramla–Beit Shemesh.
  • Night trains to Ben Gurion Airport: will be operated from/to Herzlia Station. Shuttle services will be operated between Herzlia Station and Ben Gurion Airport Station, through Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station, in both directions.

Public Transport

During the closure, the Ministry of Transportation will reinforce the bus lines.
For your convenience, we recommend you to use alternative Public Transportation.
Designated (free of charge) shuttle services between Tel Aviv stations and Herzlia Station:
777 Line – operated by Dan
Will travel in circular journey and stop at the following stations: Tel Aviv HaHagana, Hamasger/Yitzhak Sade Street, Tel Aviv HaShalom Station, Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station and Tel Aviv HaHagana Station.
Line frequency:
06:00-09:00                Fill up and Ride
09:00-20:00                every 10 minutes
20:00-23:00                every 20 minutes
888 Line – operated by Metropoline Company
Shall travel within circular journey and stop at the following stations: Herzlia Station, Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station, Tel Aviv HaShalom Station, Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station  and Herzlia Station.

06:00-09:00                Fill up and Ride
09:00-15:00                every 10 minutes
15:00-19:00                every 5 minutes
19:00-23:00                every 10 minutes
999 Line – operated by Dan Company
Journey 1: Herzlia Station, Tel Aviv University Station, Tel Aviv HaHagana Station
Journey 2: HaHagana Station, Tel Aviv University Station, Herzlia Station
Line frequency: every 20 minutes
In addition, reinforced priced bus services will be operated from/to Tel Aviv:
Nahariya, Akko: 919 Line from Nahariya Central Station, via Akko Train Station to Tel Aviv (designated line for the closure period)
Haifa – 900,910,918 Lines – from Hof HaCarmel Central Station
Binyamina – 873 Line, direct to Tel Aviv, from the train station (designated line for the closure period)
Zichron Yaakov – 872 Line, via Binyamina and Hadera
Hadera – 700 Line, direct to Tel Aviv from the Central Station
Netanya – 651 Line, direct to Tel Aviv (designated line for the closure period), 608 Line from the Stadium Parking Place to the Center of Tel Aviv
Kfar Saba – 149,567 Lines
Hod HaSharon – 249 Line
Rosh HaAyin – 472,282 Lines
Rehovot – 200 Line
Rishon LeZion – 190 Line
Beit Shemesh – 412 line

Soldiers

During the closure period of Tel Aviv stations, we recommend you to travel by the designated shuttle service, which enables you convenient and direct journey to IDF military bases in the South.
For detailed information about bus schedule and frequencies, journey and departure and arrival times, please refer to Call-Kav call center *8787, Call-Kav Application or the Ministry of Transportation website for transportation lines in Israel www.bus.gov.il (starting from 11.09.16).          
Attention!
Travelers holding periodic ticket (Flexible 7, Flexible 30) which is valid during the segment closure period and which contains at least one station out of the closed stations shall be entitled to indemnification.
Such indemnification shall be in the form of extension of travel validity, in accordance with the number of days within which the travel ticket was valid while the journey segment was closed.
The indemnification shall be available at the automatic ticketing machines or at the ticketing offices until the following day after the expiration date of the travel ticket. Afterwards, the indemnification shall be available by making a query to the customer service call center (*5770).
