Immigration to Israel by country

The FSU (Former Soviet Union) leads the way followed by the USA/Canada, France, Ethiopia, Argentina, U.K. and  South Africa.

1990 saw the largest wave of immigrants from the FSU with 185,277 people immigrating to Israel.

In 2009, 3,260 immigrants from the USA/Canada made Israel their new home – the largest figure since the year 2000.

The peak for French Aliyah to Israel was in 2015 when 6,628 people moved to Israel.

Argentina’s immigration peaked in 2002 when 5,931 immigrated to Israel.

South Africa’s lowest year was 2004 when only 82 South Africans came to live in Israel

Surprisingly, 2017 was the lowest year for Ethiopian Aliyah to Israel  when only 37 people made Aliyah from that country.
