The Tishma School for Autism
The Tishma School and Center for Autism at Kanei Hagalil Street, Jerusalem was established 11 years ago to provide an intensive educational and behavioral intervention program for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) that will substantially improve their communication, learning and life skills, enabling them to live the most dignified and self-sufficient life possible within their capabilities.
Tishma was founded at the request of parents who felt their autistic children’s needs were not being met by existing services. Tishma introduced a new model for intervention in autism in Israel – the use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in a school setting. Of all the therapeutic techniques used in autism treatment, ABA has the most empirical evidence for its effectiveness.
