Members of Israel’s Knesset elected on 2 March 2020.

The Knesset was elected on 2 March 2020 and sworn in in a historical ceremony at the Knesset in Givat Ram, Jerusalem, during the Coronavirus – Covid 19 pandemic and in accordance to Israel’s Ministry of Health restrictions and directives.

Many of Israel’s small parties joined forces this time; Blue & White for example, under the leadership of Benny Gantz was made up of 4 smaller parties that joined together; Resilience, Yesh Atid, Telem and Independent.  The Joint List, an Arab party was made up of Hadash, Ra’am, Balad and Ta’al.

Neither the Likud under the leadership of Binyamin Netanyahu, who won 36 seats/mandates nor the Blue & While party, who won 33 seats/mandates have been able to form a government.  A unity government is still on the table.  The current Speaker of the House is Yuli-Yoel Edelstein.
