Israel Banks & Banking – Acronyms & Abbreviations
Acronyms and abbreviations are used daily in both written and spoken Hebrew for example, when recommending your bank to your cousin who just made Aliyah, you would say “I bank at BALAL”. BALAL is the Hebrew acronym for Bank Leumi L’Yisrael – בל”ל.
OSH is another must-know term – עו”ש – and it refers to a current checking account.
