Waves, a warm sea and expansive golden beaches makes Tel Aviv one of the best beach breaks in the world
A 2019 study from Comparethemarket.com has analyzed 26 cities around the world, on a number of factors such as affordability, beaches and average temperatures, to reveal the world’s best seaside cities and guess what, Tel Aviv ranks at #7!!!
Results of the study show that the world’s best city beach breaks rank as follows and recommended beaches:
  1. Dubai, UAE – Jumeirah Beach

  2. Lisbon, Portugal – try Praia da Torre beach

  3. Barcelona, Spain – slightly off the grid the tranquil Bogatell beach attracts a slightly older crowd

  4. Tokyo, Japan – nothing is near in Tokyo but the Zushi beach, one hour out of town, offers you a view of Mt. Fuji on a clear day

  5. Dubrovnik, Croatia – Dance Beach in Dubrovnik gets a 5 star rating on Tripadvisor – no sand, expect natural rocks and slabs.

  6. Venice, Italy – Lido di Jesolo family beach is an hours drive from Piazza San Marco

  7. Tel Aviv, Israel – 16 beautiful beaches to bask in

  8. Istanbul, Turkey – Burc Beach on the Black Sea; a family beach with shallow waters

  9. Cape Town, South Africa – Boulders Beach for penguin viewing, Muizenberg beach for swimming and Clifton beach for ‘bird’ watching

  10. Los Angeles, US – Santa Monica is one of the most scenic beaches of LA offering visitors spectacular views and plenty of recreational facilities

The study shows that Tel Aviv is a relatively safe city for tourists.  The weather is great and there are plenty of daylight hours to enjoy the beach, attractions and everything that Tel Aviv has to offer.  Tel Aviv offers fine dining experiences and is also considered as the vegan capital of the world.

On the downside, the cost of accommodation in Tel Aviv is amongst the highest in the world and, in this study, falls just behind Chicago, New York and San Francisco – which is the most expensive.  According to the data, accommodation in Tel Aviv averages at 900 NIS/per night or £200, $258 or €235. Accommodation in Istanbul is 50 per cent cheaper but is considerably less safe.  Cape Town and Rio de Janeiro are considered the least safe beach destinations. Leave your valuables at home!

On your next trip to Israel, plan a beach break in trendy Tel Aviv and even if you are a local Israeli, spoil yourself in the “City that Never Sleeps”
