Linda Avitan has a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University and a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University.
She has certification in Couples and Family Therapy, Parental Counseling for children with ADHD, Family Mediation, and Child and Youth Therapy.
In her private practice, located in Rehovot, she offers therapy to couples, families and individuals of all ages, including children, on a wide range of issues, from couples seeking more satisfaction in their relationship, guidance around ADHD (parents and/or children), to challenges involving parental alienation. She assists couples in divorce mediation, particularly with issues surrounding children.
Linda’s practice is gay friendly, offering support to parents and/or youth in issues surrounding “coming out of the closet”. Her only agenda is seeking the well-being of the individuals who seek support.
Linda is bilingual and can give counseling in either Hebrew or English or both.
She has experience working with families for over 30 years in the public sector in foster care, residential treatment, family violence, and staff training.
In addition, she is a licensed staff trainer in Cornell University’s Therapeutic Crisis Intervention program, both in Israel and the US.
TCI is a program dedicated to teaching staff to understand youth in distress and intervene appropriately to children’s needs.
