Traffic arrangements for Jerusalem Winner Marathon – 25.03.2022

Commencing Thursday, 24.3.22, from 23:00 until the end of the Jerusalem Winner Marathon on Friday, the 19th of Adar, 25.3.2022, Ben Zvi Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic.

On Friday, March 25th

On the day of the race, vehicles will be closed to traffic from 03:00

Ben Zvi Blvd. Hebrew University Campus, Netanel Lorech, Rabin Blvd., Rothschild, Kaplan, Haim Hazaz Blvd., Tchernichovsky, Palmach, Gaza, President, Keren Hayesod, King George, St. Jaffa, IDF Square, The Paratroopers, Haim Bar-Lev Blvd., George Adam Smith, Lehi, Martin Buber, Benjamin Mazar, Churchill, Karib, Jaffa Gate, Armenian Patriarchate, Zion Gate, Jerusalem Brigade, King David, Eliyahu Shama, Emil Bota, Jabotinsky, Chopin, Dubnov, Gretz, Emek Refaim, Derech HaRechat, Derech Bethlehem, David Remez, Derech Hebron, Janowski, Yehuda, Pierre Koenig, Elazar HaModai, Conquerors of Katamon , Joshua Yavin, Saker Garden.

Traffic disruptions are also expected on the streets adjacent to the race tracks.

The event is expected to end by 2 p.m.

Train service

On Friday 25/03/22 trains will operate on the Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon – Herzliya line, in both directions.

Trains will stop at all Tel Aviv and Ben Gurion Airport stations.

Two trains will run per hour, in each direction.

The first train to Jerusalem, departing from Herzliya station at 05:02 and arriving at Jerusalem’s Yitzhak Navon station, at 06:00

The last train to Herzliya, departs from Jerusalem’s Yitzhak Navon station, at 13:20 p.m.

Transport from Ben Gurion Airport

‘Nesher’ operates a transport service from Ben Gurion International Airport to Jerusalem and its vicinity.  Their 24/7 service can be found on the ground floor of the airport at the service station (G) near gates 01-03. Follow the signs at the airport.

Parking arrangements

Parking will be prohibited on Burg, Ben Zvi and State Comptroller streets from Thursday, 24.03.22, at 17.00 until the end of the event on Friday, 25.03.22, at 14.00.

The Jerusalem Light Rail

The light rail will operate on two routes:

  • Route 1 – from the Air Force to Ammunition Hill.
  • Route 2 – from central station to Mount Herzl.

Public transportation

Giv’at HaTahmoshet Station and Central Station will be connected by public transportation lines: 66, 66A, 45, 25, which will pass through the city center and Mahane Yehuda Market.

There will be changes to some of the bus lines. For more information: Egged Information – *2800.

Shuttles

Free shuttles in both directions between 5:30 am and 13:30 pm

  • Pick up: Eastern gallery at the Teddy Stadium
  • Drop off: Saker Garden along Burg Street (near the Leumit parking lot)

Note: At the drop-off point, shuttles will be available for runners to return to the starting point.

Educational institutions

Schools and education system institutions will operate normally wherever possible. Information regarding the school day at every educational institution will be provided to parents and students by school and kindergarten managements. Parents and students are advised to keep track of publications regarding changes to traffic arrangements and directions to alternative routes.

  • North: Uzi Narkis Avenue, Road 9, Golda Meir Avenue, Eshkol Avenue
    Center – City Entrance, Herzl Avenue, Begin Avenue South/North, Bar Ilan/Yirmiyahu route
